Who we are
Posted for Two is made by an independent developer based in the United Kingdom. If you have any question about this policy or your data, email betterlifeoa@gmail.com. That address is also the controller contact for the purposes of UK data protection law (UK GDPR).
What the app stores, and where
Your board is made up of:
- notes and tasks, with their titles, details, points, due dates, repeat rules and colours
- the history of completed tasks, and the thanks you send
- treats (rewards) and when they were cashed in
- each person’s display name, emoji and colour
This is stored on your devices and in your own iCloud account, using Apple’s CloudKit, in your private iCloud database. When you invite your partner, the board is shared with that one person through an iCloud share. The share is never public.
Text you type, such as names, note titles and details, and treat names, is stored in CloudKit’s encrypted fields. Other values, such as points, dates and colours, are stored as standard iCloud fields.
The share’s title includes the board owner’s name (for example, “Sam’s Posted board”), and the person you invite can see it.
We, the developer, cannot access your iCloud data. Apple stores it under its own privacy policy and the iCloud terms and conditions.
What stays on your device
- A copy of the board in the app’s shared container on your device, so that widgets and Apple Watch can show your notes.
- Your settings, such as note font, tilt, App Lock, hiding note text in widgets, and notification switches, kept in the app’s local preferences.
Permissions the app asks for
Face ID, Touch ID or passcode
Only used if you turn on the optional App Lock. Apple handles the check on your device. The app is told only whether it succeeded and never sees any biometric data.
Notifications
The app shows local notifications on your device, such as “Sam posted a job for you”. You can turn each kind off in Settings. The app also receives silent iCloud push messages, which only tell it that something changed so your board stays up to date.
Widgets and Apple Watch
Widgets and the Apple Watch app show your notes. You can hide note text in widgets in Settings. Watch complications hide note titles when the screen dims.
Who can see your board
You, the one person you invite, and nobody else. We don’t sell or share any data, and we have none to sell or share.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data stays until you delete it. In the app, go to Settings → Sharing:
- The board’s owner can Stop sharing, and the partner loses access.
- The owner can Delete board, which removes the board from iCloud for both people.
- A partner can Leave board.
You can also delete individual notes and treats.
Two things worth knowing:
- History entries (completed tasks, thanks and cashed-in treats) keep the note’s title even after the note is deleted. They are removed when the board is deleted.
- If a partner leaves, the things they posted stay on the owner’s board.
Deleting the app removes its data from that device. You can also manage iCloud data in the Settings app under [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage.
Lawful basis
We don’t process your personal data. Storage in iCloud is provided by Apple under your own agreement with Apple.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Because we hold none of your data, you can exercise most of these directly in the app or with Apple. You are still welcome to contact us with any question.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
International transfers
We don’t transfer any personal data, internationally or otherwise.
Children
Posted for Two is not directed at children under 13. The app has no public content and no way to contact strangers.
